The Ugly Web Design Hall of Shame

The Ugly Web Design Hall of Shame is run by well-known web designers. The hall of shame posts several different websites submitted to the hall of shame, showcasing the horrible workmanship of their designers. The reasons behind the submission include that a client paid for the website, the color scheme clashes, the lack of detail, and so on.

UseIt.com

An example for the ugly website Hall of Shame includes UseIt.com, which features no structure to the website at all. The website has no borders or boxes to contain any differences in the content on the home page. There is no menu for navigational purposes; the links to different parts of the webpage are contained in various bodies of content. The lack a scroll bar makes it extremely difficult to determine whether or not there is more content on the page than what is immediately displayed.

Swan Nursery School

The lack of information for this nursery on the website that was paid for is not acceptable. The images are standard clip-art, and the information is basic; only a telephone number and address. This website made it into the Webpage Hall of Shame due to its lack of content and incredibly plain layout.

Different web designers have different skill levels, and can learn more as they continue to experiment with different codes and scripts. However, some people do not realize how horrible the website looks until another person points it out. The Ugly Web Design Hall of Shame serves as an excellent reminder of flaws and errors that web designers should avoid in their own designs.
